Patient Involvement

Working together with patients

Researchers are encouraged to work closely together with the Sheffield MND Research Advisory Group (SMND-RAG) to get input from patients, families and carers for their research and clinical work. This group offers clinical and scientific researchers feedback on their research proposals, ideas to improve patient involvement and assistance in communicating their research to wider audiences. The group meets quarterly and can review documents via monthly email.
SITraN is able to offer an opportunity to work alongside the SMND RAG to give researchers the experience of public and patient involvement (PPI) and to gain valuable individualised input to specific research proposals.

*In the current competitive climate funding bodies often see PPI involvement as an essential step to a successful application.*
